Financial Requirements at Participants Expense:
All accepted Study and Work program participants will be required to provide the following at their expense
- Round-trip air transportation from country of origin to Chile
- All transportation costs while in Chile
- Proof of emergency medical insurance
- Dinner meals two nights per week (Saturday and Sunday), and lunches seven days per week.
- Cost of a tourist visa, payable to Chilean government upon entry into Santiago airport ($131 USD at this time, subject to change)
Personal Requirements:
All accepted Study and Work program participants will be required to meet the following criteria:

Intermediate conversational Spanish

At least three years of university completed
-
Minimum age of 20 years at time of entry into Chile

Strong passion to assist, teach and be a role model for Chilean youth
Job Description:
The work practicum will involve assisting existing local Chilean teachers and school administrators with a specific focus on less-privileged youth acting as a role model.Such work will include, but not be limited to:
-
assisting in classroom setting for teaching informal English classes,
-
acting as a role model to formerly troubled “kids from the street” who have recently recovered from various family, drug and/or alcohol abuses,
-
maintaining a responsible cultural representation of your country,
-
sharing stories, magazine clippings, music recordings and other that represent your home country,
-
conducting craft, sports, games, and other activities designed for youth
-
Additionally, participants should have an ability to embrace, rather than be annoyed by, various conditions which may not be similar to their environment in the home country,

dedication to the purpose of the program:to study and work in a language practicum at local schools;Participants will have fun, but the program is not designed

a commitment to be punctual to all Spanish classes and work assignments at the Chilean school.
